Special Education

Green Chimneys’ Therapeutic Day School is designed for students who have been unsuccessful in a traditional educational program and who require a small, structured and supportive setting. Small class sizes, high staff-to-student ratio, well trained teaching staff and a safe, therapeutic environment are a just a few things that make our programs the right choice for so many students with special needs.

An enriched educational environment offers a vast array of adjunct programs such as life skills, outdoor education, art, gardening, and renowned nature-based programs that encompass therapeutic animal-assisted and horticultural activities, humane education, and sustainable agriculture education. Green Chimneys meets, and often exceeds, all standards and educational mandates set by New York State.

We are confident in the capabilities of our program, which is part of Green Chimneys, a leader in special education and therapeutic programs for more than 60 years.
